In many locations, in the UK and overseas, broadband communications has to be delivered by satellite, as an alternative to ADSL over the phone network. When there is no cable TV or phone company service, the required bandwidth can be delivered to just about any location by satellite. However, it is a requirement that the satellite dish must have a clear view of the southern sky.
