Samsung road show for the Olympic Games
20th April 2004
As one of the major sponsors of the Olympics, Samsung have decided to do their own long distance run. The road show will travel throughout Europe and finish in Greece, just in time for the opening of the Olympics.
Samsung want to create awareness of their mobile phones by getting people to join their Fun Club. On their trailer there are number of free draws each day with the chance to win a home cinema kit. People are encouraged to register on-line, with satellite Internet communications provided by BrownstoneIT.
Samsung and BrownstoneIT It was realised early on, that setting up GSM telephone connections in each location throughout Europe would be difficult, if not impossible. Additionally, trials showed the data throughput of GSM phones would not be up to the task. BrownstoneIT was asked to create a Satellite Broadband connection for the PC’s that could be operated anywhere in Europe. This would give access to Samsung’s web site in order for the public to log their interest in the Fun Club. Business Need Geoff Wakefield – Marketing Consultant of Firbank Kempster said “The solution provided to us by BrownstoneIT has been critical to the success of this project. Broadband access from locations all over Europe has enabled us to sign members of the public up to Samsung’s Fun Club. The speed we achieved with the BrownstoneIT dish served our throughput requirement. BrownstoneIT have responded swiftly to our need and given us excellent support both in the UK and Europe". ![]() < back |
