Scantlings

Scantlings a machine tool design consultancy. They decided to relocate part of their business to rural Dorset, whilst the head office was to remain in Cambridge.

The remoteness of the new location meant there was no internet access, an essential tool of every business.

Brownstone, were called in to provide high speed internet access. Two key requirements were:

1. The transfer of large data files between the two locations

2. Wi-Fi zone so all the PCs on the LAN could talk to each other on a site spreading over several buildings.

Our first job was to fix in place a Fixed Satellite terminal and a LAN was created to connect and bring all the equipment together. A series of Wireless Access Points were connected to bridge the Wi-Fi signal across the site to connect each building.
