Background
In South Wales, like many other places in the UK, traditional industries like steel-making and coal, have largely gone. There is a need for re-training to prepare people for the changes they will have to make to adapt for the new work-place. Coleg Gwent has a major role to play in this effort, and seeks to repeat the success of the “Drop-in centres” already set up in town centres.

Monks Park School “Communications Bus”

Background

Monks Park is a specialist school concentrating on modern languages. This project was funded by a Specialist School bid and the purpose of the bus is to visit Primary schools which are partners to Monks Park to promote modern languages and Monks Park in general. Further use will be made of the bus to evangelise modern languages, including English courses to the general public.

Barts Gives Students the Broadband Edge

Bartholomews is a private tutorial college catering for about 40 students. Teaching is done on a one-to-one basis and the focus is on getting young people through their G.C.S.E’s, A-Levels or Oxbridge exams.
