Brownstone IT has developed a backup system for your voice and data communications, using our satellite dish. Totally self-sufficient, the equipment is powered by a generator, which means it can still operate even if the local infrastructure is down and out. Even remote sites can connect to the Head Office LAN using the Internet – at low cost to you. This removes the need for a high-cost leased line or offers cost-effective fall-back to the leased line connection (route diversity).

Security is assured across the Internet through the establishment of a standards-based IP Sec Virtual Private Network (VPN). All communications pass through this VPN ‘tunnel’, which makes Internet connections as secure as leased line connections.

Brownstone IT can provide you with all the required hardware, software and satellite capacity, as well as VSAT installation, maintenance, network management and 24x7 support. We will supply IPSec VPN security across the complete link, including the satellite hop. Full encryption is included using:
• DES
• 3 DES
• AES

Message authentication is assured using MD5 or SHA-1 password hashing.
